Saturday night on the Island.
Observing Session.
Clear skies transparency was good and seeing was probably a little better than average. The eastern skies was a little hazy up to about 25 degrees above the horizon, but the south and west were excellent.

The weather has been terrible, for the past 3 months, finally today the SUN is shining, but come next week, we might get some more water. In the attachment is a picture of my friends observatory HIGH and DRY!!

If the weather holds and we don't get blown away by Dolly, the viewing scheduled for the island will be at the water tanks. A list of possible targets is listed in the extended article.

July's Messier Objects

If you like Globular Clusters, your in luck! This month we have a total of 6 Messier Globular clusters and only 1 Messier Galaxy. We will be visiting 5 different Telrad maps to locate the following constellations. Canes Venatici - The Hunting Dog, Coma Bernice's - Bernice's Hair, Serpens - The Serpent, Hydra - The Hunting Dog, and Scorpius - The Scorpion. GC = Globular Cluster Const.= Constellation
